  • Hi, iam considering buy of macbook air 2018, iam doing mostly web browsing, word and sometimes AutoCAD - only easy drawings of small houses in 2D. Has anyone experience? I am considering only the basic version, because of budget. Thanks for every answer!
While Inventor or Revit does not currently have a native Macintosh version, you can still install Revit and Inventor on a Mac in virtualized environments including Parallels Desktop and VMware Fusion. We also support these products via Boot Camp, part of Mac OS X that lets you install and run Windows (and Windows-based applications) on a Mac.
I'd suggest you a) check out the technical specifications on both Machines and then also b) check out benchmark testing on both.
Air

As a general observation, a fast i7 processor is best with that kind of app as well as lots of RAM (the new OS versions all require far more RAM and so does Adobe), so 16 GB would be a minimum.

And, a laptop is designed for portability, not necessarily processing power (unless it's a top model Macbook Pro).
